KILIAN ACADEMY GRADE TO NEXT LEVEL

OWEN SOUND - The past week saw the first group of Kilian Academy kickboxers grade towards their next level. “The first four months consist of basic kickboxing techniques, which athletes have to master to ensure that they progress to their next level,” says Abrie Kilian, program director at Kilian Academy.
“The first of the kickboxing athletes at Kilian Academy were invited to showcase this training at the academy. Our Kickboxing program consists out of American and European style kickboxing, Muay Thai and Sanda.” Added Kilian. "Our program is focused to assist people with their mental health challenges and help navigate the challenges posed by the current pandemic," added Kilian.
Athletes who obtained their white patches are as follows: Curran Dixon, Scott Dixon, Nick Mole, Brodie Archer, Caleb Bates, Jonathan Newiger, and Nicci Weber. Curran Dixon took top honours, achieving 84%, which is one percentage point short of the highest possible mark an athlete can obtain during grading.
Mr Kilian stated that Kilian Academy maintains a strict grading policy, which sees the promotion of athletes to the next level when they show a level of competence required to be promoted.
